Deye 18kW Single-Phase Hybrid Solar Inverter
The Deye SUN-18K-SG01LP1-EU-AM3-P is an 18kW single-phase hybrid solar inverter designed for systems combining solar generation, compatible low-voltage battery storage and grid power.
It supports on-grid and off-grid operation, allowing it to form part of a solar energy and battery backup installation. The final system design, connected loads and available backup power depend on the battery configuration, solar array and electrical installation.
SOLAR GENERATION AND BATTERY STORAGE
The inverter includes three Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) trackers for managing compatible solar panel strings. Solar array voltage, current and string configuration must remain within the limits specified in the manufacturer’s documentation.
Designed for compatible low-voltage battery systems, this inverter can manage battery charging and discharging as part of an appropriately configured installation. Battery compatibility, communication requirements and operating settings must be checked before connecting a battery.
FLEXIBLE ENERGY MANAGEMENT
The inverter supports six configurable time periods for battery charging and discharging. These settings allow the installer to configure energy management around the site’s requirements and available power sources.
It also supports AC coupling for suitable existing solar installations and can support energy storage from a compatible diesel generator. These functions require the correct equipment, system design and configuration.
DISPLAY AND ENCLOSURE
A colour touchscreen provides access to operating information and inverter settings. The enclosure has an IP65 protection rating. Installation location, clearances and environmental conditions must still follow Deye’s installation instructions.

Installation and commissioning must be carried out by a suitably qualified installer in accordance with Deye’s instructions and applicable South African electrical requirements.

Backup duration depends on the connected battery’s usable capacity and the electrical load. The inverter’s 18kW rating describes its rated active AC output power; it does not describe battery storage capacity or guarantee a particular backup duration.
