Product Warranty Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This policy applies to products purchased from Solarised Energy through www.solarisedenergy.co.za.
Read it together with our Terms & Conditions and Returns & Refunds Policy. Nothing in this policy limits rights provided by applicable South African consumer law.
1. Statutory protection
Where the Consumer Protection Act applies, products must meet its requirements for quality, safety and suitability.
If goods fail to meet the applicable standards within 6 months after delivery, you may return them without penalty and at the supplier’s risk and expense. Subject to the Act’s requirements, you may choose a repair, replacement or refund.
This protection is separate from any additional manufacturer warranty. Our voluntary 30-day return period does not shorten these statutory rights.
2. Manufacturer warranties
Additional manufacturer warranties depend on the particular product, model and applicable warranty terms.
We do not offer a single manufacturer warranty period across all products. Any warranty period advertised in a listing must be supported by the relevant terms.
Where applicable, those terms may specify:
-
The warranty duration and when it begins.
-
Covered components and faults.
-
Installation, registration or maintenance requirements.
-
Conditions relating to operating limits and compatible equipment.
-
The process for requesting service.
Contact info@solarisedenergy.co.za before purchasing if the warranty information you need is missing or unclear.
Manufacturer warranties do not replace statutory rights.
3. How to request warranty assistance
Email info@solarisedenergy.co.za with:
-
Your order number or other available proof of purchase.
-
The product name and model.
-
The serial number, where available.
-
A description of the fault and when it occurred.
-
Photographs, videos or error codes, where available and safe to obtain.
Relevant installation or maintenance information may help us assess the issue.
Do not open equipment, remove safety covers or perform unsafe tests to obtain evidence.
Solarised Energy remains your contact for assistance, including where an order was dispatched directly by a supplier.
4. Assessment and return arrangements
We may need to inspect or test the product to establish the fault and appropriate remedy. Where necessary, we may coordinate an assessment with the manufacturer or its service provider.
An assessment does not remove your statutory rights or allow us to impose a repair where the law gives you a choice of remedy.
Contact us before sending equipment so we can confirm the return address and transport arrangements. Please do not send products to a business location without confirming the destination.
Keep the original packaging where reasonably possible. Missing original packaging does not automatically invalidate a statutory claim.
5. Installation and safe operation
Products must be used within their specified operating limits and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Electrical, plumbing and other regulated work must be performed by appropriately qualified persons where required.
A manufacturer warranty may require installation records, product registration or maintenance documentation. Any such requirement must be disclosed where applicable.
Installation alone does not automatically invalidate a warranty or statutory claim. Where installation or use is relevant to a fault, we will assess the circumstances and applicable terms.
6. Damage and manufacturer warranty limitations
Depending on the verified manufacturer terms, additional warranty cover may exclude damage caused by:
-
Misuse, accidental damage or improper handling.
-
Incorrect installation or incompatible equipment.
-
Operation outside specified electrical, temperature or environmental limits.
-
Unauthorised modifications or repairs.
-
Failure to follow required maintenance instructions.
-
External events such as lightning, flooding or fire.
These examples are not automatic exclusions for every product. The applicable terms and cause of the fault must be considered.
We will explain the reason for any declined claim. Manufacturer exclusions do not override rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Batteries and performance claims
Battery warranties vary by model. They may refer to a period of time, cycle count, energy throughput or retained capacity under specified conditions.
We do not promise a universal battery lifespan, cycle count or capacity-retention guarantee.
Battery runtime depends on connected loads, operating conditions, configuration and usage. Solar generation and other equipment performance also depend on installation and environmental conditions.
Any performance warranty must be supported by the specific product’s verified terms.
8. Repairs, replacements and refunds
The remedy will depend on the applicable statutory rights or additional warranty terms.
Where the Consumer Protection Act applies, if a product is repaired under its implied warranty and, within 3 months after that repair, the original problem remains unresolved or a further failure, defect or unsafe feature is discovered, the Act provides for replacement or refund.
We will explain the proposed remedy and any relevant arrangements. We will not require you to accept store credit instead of a refund to which you are legally entitled.
Refund processing follows our Returns & Refunds Policy, subject to any applicable statutory deadline.
9. Transport and other charges
For a valid defective-goods return under the Consumer Protection Act’s six-month protection, the return is without penalty and at the supplier’s risk and expense.
For additional manufacturer warranty claims outside that protection, transport, assessment and other costs depend on the applicable terms and law.
Any proposed charge must be explained and agreed before chargeable work proceeds. We will not impose undisclosed assessment, repair or handling fees.
10. Installation and removal services
Buying a product does not automatically include installation, removal, reinstallation or commissioning.
Any services included in the purchase must be expressly stated in the listing or agreed quotation.
This does not exclude costs or remedies for which Solarised Energy is responsible under applicable law.
If equipment appears unsafe, stop using it where safe to do so and contact us. Have installed equipment disconnected by an appropriately qualified person where required.
